(GLASGOW, Scotland) Jan. 14, 2022 – collectionHQ, the leading library analytics solution, is pleased to announce it has received a platinum award in LibraryWorks’ eighth annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs).
Acquired by Baker & Taylor in 2011, collectionHQ places innovation at the heart of its service to deliver public libraries with a toolset that supports community-driven collection development. The product allows librarians to effectively analyze how their collection is performing and take clear action to maximize and manage it — aligning supply with demand. In July 2021, collectionHQ added a new module to help libraries analyze the representation of diverse, equitable and inclusive material in their collections.
The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry in a truly unbiased format. Products and services were submitted via application in the fall of 2021, then posted on a private site with enhanced descriptions and accompanying materials. These products were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K-12, academic and special libraries. Only customers who had experience using the submissions in their facilities participated as judges, resulting in a fair scoring process.
Each judge rated the product on a numeric basis from 1-10 on a series of questions regarding functionality, value, customer service, etc.
Amandeep Kochar, President and CEO at Baker & Taylor said, “It is a proud moment for the entire team at Baker & Taylor to receive platinum distinction in the 2022 Modern Library Awards. As a company, we actively encourage feedback from our customers to support product development, so the fact that these awards are judged by librarians using collectionHQ – and that this marks the third MLA for one of our products – is extra special. I dedicate this award to our public library partners who continue to inspire me every day with their grit, kindness and commitment to their communities.”
Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager said, “collectionHQ has been at the forefront of library analytics since it entered the market in 2008, and fully deserves Platinum recognition in the Modern Library Awards. As a company that is continuously innovating and responding to customer feedback, it is hardly surprising that collectionHQ users have scored this tool so highly.”
