Hi Ollie! Having worked with libraries for almost fifteen years, we have to ask, what is your favourite book?
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig. I like being confused and it confuses me every time I read it.
We must read it! What do you like most about working with libraries?
One the best parts is meeting the librarians who use our software and helping them to configure it in a way which is useful for them.
The support team at collectionHQ consistently receives excellent feedback from customers. Tell us, what tool in collectionHQ do you like best, and how does it help libraries?
My favourite tool has to be Grubby Item Refresh as it helps libraries optimise their current collection without having to buy any new books.
What is your happiest memory of the library?
My happiest memory of my local library doesn’t actually involve books. I loved climbing up the shelves in the children’s department as that seemed more fun at the time.
It sounds like you were an adventurous child! What is one thing we’d never guess about you?
I’m a synesthetic. I see words and numbers with an overlay of colour and when music is playing I see weird shapes.
How interesting! Our final question – choose one literary character you want on your team during a zombie apocalypse and explain why.
I was tempted to say someone like Jack Reacher, but I think it would have to be Sherlock Holmes. I think he’d be able to thwart the zombies in some clever way e.g. by helping them curb their thirst for brains and allowing them to become integrated members of society.
Excellent choice, Ollie, we are sure you’d make it out unscathed! We’ve had fun chatting with you today, thanks!
