Methodology
EBSM is a complete methodology for Library Stock Performance Improvement.
The methodology comprises of a framework that guides practitioners through a phased journey towards collection performance excellence.
Throughout each of the phases, a set of EBSM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are used to drive performance forwards. Locally defined Targets and Parameters are associated with each of the EBSM KPIs, to enable each Library to adopt EBSM at a pace that suits its needs.
An EBSM Toolset is used by practitioners to complete the collection management activities (transfer, swap, refresh, removal etc.) required to progress towards targets.
Finally, the methodology suggests a framework for scheduling the toolset in a sequence that maximizes use of existing items.
